Creating Videos

At this time Apprise only supports metadata-only videos: video assets with no associated video file. These assets are not meant to be distributed; they are needed in order to be able to report royalties on your video assets uploaded to VEVO or distributed through another distributor. To submit videos for upload to VEVO please read our guide here.

Please follow these steps to add metadata-only videos to your account.

  • Please go to the new dashboard (this isn’t supported in the old dashboard).

  • Go to Assets > Videos (if you do not have a Videos section, please email Support to request it is enabled for your account).

  • Click on Create new.

IMPORTANT: Note that Apprise videos are video albums, meaning that they can contain multiple videos (called “video tracks”). Video albums are similar to audio releases in that they can have more than 1 track. A basic video is simply a 1 track video.

  • Create a video track. The only required fields are:

    • The video title

    • An artist (at least one)

    • A video ISRC (VISRC). Do not enter an audio ISRC here. Since these are meant to be assets used for reporting, you must provide the vISRC of your distributed video. If you have not yet distributed your video, please email support to request an ISRC for your video (we can also provide you with multiple ISRCs ahead of time if you need to create multiple videos).

  • Fill out the release metadata. The only required fields are:

    • Metadata language

    • The video title. Note that for basic videos (video albums of only 1 video), the title of the video track must match the title of the video album.

    • An artist (at least one)

    • A UPC. Since these are meant to be assets used for reporting, you must provide the UPC of your distributed video. If you have not yet distributed your video, please email support to request a UPC for your video (we can also provide you with multiple UPCs ahead of time if you need to create multiple videos).

    • A VISRC (same guidelines as for the video ISRC in the track section above).
