Orielia Naa-Ami Quartey with the stage name Stonegal is Ghana’s youngest newest sensation in the reggae-dancehall genre. Her zeal and passion towards music are indefinite to be adequately described. Her energy on stage is extremely beyond what words can describe. She is a rarity: a reality show artist who has far eclipsed the platform she started on. Combining artistry and imagery, this bold, young singer records in multiple languages – including English, Patois, and native dialects and is known for the infectious single ‘thanksgiving’. Placing fourth in the 2020 talented kids. The youngster is at the forefront of young kid’s music in the Ghana reggae-dancehall genre. Her music has hints of afrobeat, reggae, and dancehall.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Orielia Naa-Ami Quartey also known as Stonegal was born to Miss. Emma Dzigbordi Ladzekpo and Mr. Patrick Kwatey Quartey. She is just six years old and attends school at Mars’ Hill School Complex at (La). She hails from a Ga tribe in Accra-La.
The parent discovered her ability to sing good music at age three (3) but started professional music at age six (6). JewNart an artist, songwriter, and music producer nurtured her talent. The parent never hesitated to allow JewNart(music producer) to help develop her talent when Francis Newman (teacher) discovered her ability to sing and dance at school. .JewNart(music producer) discovered the girl’s love for Stonebowy’s music so he was inspired to take the girl through Stonebowy’s musical realm. JewNart being the sound engineer actually did the coaching and Francis Newman discovered Stonegal’s talent to sing during the school’s speech and prize-giving day. In 2020 time catapulted her to Talented Kidz: a kids reality show, which she placed 4th in that particular season. She has three songs to her credit of which one is aired and can be found on all digital platforms. The single is entitled “Jah Light”.
