Moses Atamia (born 1988) is an afrobeat fuse highlife music composer and a songwriter from Ghana. He was formerly known as ”Father Moses” but currently goes by the name Atamia. He is currently considered one of the best upcoming talents in Ghana and Africa who is known for his originality of the afrobeat and highlife fusion.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Moses Atamia was born in Zaari in Bolgatanga to a Frafra tribe in the Upper East region. Atamia literally means ” Forgiveness”. He was born to Mr and Mrs Atamia. Among seven children, Moses remains the seventh born of his parents. He migrated with the mother who was a trader to Kumasi thus he had his basic school at Division Basic School in Kumasi (Yemasu). He couldn’t further his education after basic school due to personal reasons. The spark of music started when he was a child. He sings at church and performs for his peers back in basic school. He also performs copyright music at funfairs. As a child, he idolized entertainers such as Obrafour, Okomfour Kwaade and many more.
Atamia started writing his music professionally in the early years of 2010. In June 2012 he released his lead single ”Nice Girl” featuring Togbui Volta, Snyper and Nhyiraba. The song depets the gratification of women all over the world. This song is in pidgin and local dialect such as Twi and Ewe.
Moreover Atamia sing/compose is music mostly advising the youth to have the zeal of achieving their ultimate goals so that they can live life at max, appreciating the beauty of women and also touching on social issues.
