RocAfrik Music & Arts Festival: Apprise Music Introduces Annual Cultural Exchange Platform
Apprise Music & Media has officially launched the RocAfrik Music & Arts Festival, a new annual cultural exchange platform designed to connect Ghana and the diaspora through live performance, collaboration, and creative dialogue.
RocAfrik stands as both a celebration of African music and a strategic ecosystem initiative. It creates a meeting ground where accomplished artists share the stage with emerging, discovered talents, building bridges across borders through performance and partnership.
Presented by Apprise Music & Media, RocAfrik positions Ghana at the center of a growing global conversation around African cultural influence.
A Platform for Cultural Exchange
RocAfrik serves as a dynamic cultural exchange initiative that promotes African artistry internationally while strengthening ties between Ghana and its global diaspora.
The festival operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and the Office of Diaspora Affairs at the Presidency, with institutional collaboration from the Ghana Tourism Authority, Ghana Tourism Development Company, National Folklore Board, and PanAfrica Ghana.
This structure reinforces RocAfrik not only as a concert series but also as a national cultural platform.
Annual Celebration of Music and Creative Tourism
RocAfrik is designed as an annual five-day cultural experience featuring:
• Cultural tours and filming sessions
• Industry mixers connecting Ghanaian and international artists
• Media launch and press engagement
• Main concert staged at Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park
The main concert, scheduled for 28 November 2025, brings together headline and supporting artists in a curated live showcase.
The first edition features the international ensemble Auļi from Latvia alongside Ghana’s Abiana, supported by King Eazie, Ayizam, Ras Caleb Appiah Levi, King Nzema, RobRoy, and Osagyefo.
This programming model ensures that established voices and discovery talents share the same cultural stage.
Voices of Ghana: Cross Continental Sound
A defining highlight of the inaugural edition is the launch of the “Voices of Ghana” EP, a live cultural collaboration between Latvian ensemble Auļi and Ghanaian singer Abiana.
This project blends Baltic folk traditions with Ghanaian highlife influences, demonstrating RocAfrik’s commitment to meaningful international collaboration.
It is not a symbolic exchange. It is a recorded, performed, and globally streamed cultural dialogue.
The Vision Behind RocAfrik
RocAfrik was launched as part of Apprise Music’s broader mission to develop sustainable creative infrastructure.
The event advances three core objectives:
- International collaboration that unites artists and stakeholders across borders
- Creative tourism that enhances Ghana’s cultural visitor experience
- Celebration of Ghanaian excellence and heritage
This aligns with Apprise Music’s long-term focus on ecosystem development rather than isolated events.
Leadership and Cultural Entrepreneurship
Grace Nyele Mensah, co-founder of RocAfrik and operations manager at Apprise Music, describes the festival as a structured space where African creativity is experienced, exchanged, and recognized internationally.
Through RocAfrik, Apprise Music expands its role beyond distribution and publishing into live music development, cultural diplomacy, and cross-border collaboration.
The festival represents a practical step toward positioning African creators within global touring and exchange circuits.
A Stage for Discovery and Legacy
RocAfrik is built to serve both accomplished artists and discovery talent.
By placing emerging performers alongside internationally recognized acts, Apprise Music ensures visibility, mentorship, and audience expansion.
It is a curated platform. It is an exchange forum. It is an annual gathering for collaboration.
RocAfrik Is Now Part of the Calendar
RocAfrik Music & Arts Festival is established as an annual cultural event, reinforcing Ghana’s position as a hub for African creative excellence.
Artists, partners, cultural institutions, and diaspora communities are invited to participate in future editions and collaborative projects.
