Midem is an annual music industry event and conference held in Cannes, France and owned by Reed Midem. Originally held in 1967, Midem attracts thousands of attendees from sectors including records, publishing, artist management, production, and performers themselves.

Michael Bamfo’s Role in Ghana’s Representation at MIDEM 2016
In 2016, Michael Bamfo, Founder of Apprise Music & Media, joined a select delegation of Ghanaian music industry stakeholders to attend MIDEM, one of the world’s leading music business events, held annually in Cannes, France.

The Ghanaian delegation was led by notable figures in the industry, including: Bice Obour Osei Kuffour, then-President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), whose tenure was marked by initiatives to professionalize and develop the local music industry.

Bessa Simons, a renowned musician and music executive who would later assume the role of MUSIGA President, advocating for better structures and representation for Ghanaian artists. Other influential members of Ghana’s music scene, including record label heads, producers, and legal advisors.
